Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information kukuwu.coffee collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to this website and to emails you send us.
Who We Are
This website is run by Kukuwu Cafe and Chocolate LLC ("Kukuwu", "we", "us"), a company registered in the United States, which is responsible for the personal information described here. Our coffee comes from Colombia, and we focus on the Caribbean, including Saint-Martin, Sint Maarten, Saint-Barthélemy and Anguilla. Information We Collect
Analytics, only if you accept. When you accept analytics cookies in the banner at the bottom of the page, Google Analytics 4 collects information about your visit: the pages you view, how long you stay, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or a link), and your browser, type of device and general region. It does not give us your name or email address. If you decline, or do not choose, Google Analytics does not load and collects nothing.
Technical information. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request information (such as browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write, such as questions about our coffees, their availability or wholesale supply.
Apart from the technical information our host needs to deliver the site, giving us information is voluntary: you can use the site without accepting analytics, and you decide what to put in an email. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.
Cookies and Your Choice
We use cookies only for analytics, and only after you accept them:

We remember your choice in your browser's local storage (not in a cookie), so we do not ask again on every page. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and remove its cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on.

Who We Share It With
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site for us, and when the law requires it:
- Google (Google Analytics), if you accept analytics cookies. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site.
- Zoho Mail, which handles email sent to info@kukuwu.coffee.
International Transfers
We are a US company, so information you send us is handled in the United States, and our providers may process it in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires safeguards for these transfers, for example from the European Union, we rely on the safeguards set out in our providers' data processing terms. To ask which safeguards apply, or for a copy, write to info@kukuwu.coffee.
How Long We Keep It
- Analytics: Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data for 2 months. Summary reports built from it are kept longer.
- Emails: 2 years after your last message to us, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
- Technical information: kept by Cloudflare under its own policies.
Your Rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
- delete it, where no legal duty requires us to keep it;
- limit how we use it, for example while a correction is checked;
- object to our use of it where we rely on our legitimate interests;
- send information you gave us to you, or to another organization where this is technically possible, in a common electronic format;
- withdraw any consent you gave us, at any time, without affecting what we did before.
You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live, for example France's CNIL. You do not need to contact us first, but we would welcome the chance to put things right.
How to make a request. Write to info@kukuwu.coffee with your name, the email address you used with us, and what you are asking for. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We answer questions about your information, including requests to see it, within 10 business days, and complaints and all other requests within 15 business days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer, within the time the law allows (under the GDPR, one month from your request, which can be extended by two more months for complex requests).
Children
This site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not email us payment card numbers, passwords or other information you consider sensitive.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date below.
